What are we trying to achieve and is a business the way to do it?
We want to help French farmers earn a living and break out of social isolation.
What will our business do?
We want to create a platform that would connect farmers and consumers who live close by geographically thanks to geolocation. Through this platform, farmers could gain visibility and sell directly to consumers. They could also organize vegetable workshops with families to help them discover their trade and share a good time.
Who wants to buy our product or service?
People are paying more and more attention to what they consume. And there is a tendency to go back to green. The platform would then allow people to find the farmers who sell the products they are looking for near their homes and could also book a gardening activity organized by the farmer. We especially target families with children, to educate generations to come.
How will the business operate?
People would pay for their basket of agricultural products and their activity directly on the site, our company would take a small commission and give the rest to the farmers.
Who will benefit?
Farmers would earn money and be less isolated. It could also have a positive impact on their mental health as they would be recognized for their skills.
It would be easier for consumers to find farmers and share a moment with them. They would also feel more responsible.
This benefited the environment more generally because it would encourage people to consume locally, and to think more concretely about their consumption.
This would support the French economy and agriculture, in competition with the rest of the world.
And our business could grow thanks to commissions.
What is the long-term purpose of the business?
Take farmers out of isolation, develop a certain recognition towards them, which they deserve. Reduce the suicide rate in this population. Push people to question their consumption patterns and allow them to consume locally easily. Raise awareness of future generations through workshops for families with children.
Why do we want to create this business?
This Business has multiple positive impacts. Mainly social, but also economic and environmental.
What’s it going to look like in five years?
If the business is doing well, in 5 years we may be able to develop the project. For example, we may have enough funds to organize events between farmers, so that they can meet, discuss, exchange and see that they are not alone. We could also develop a part of advice for farmers: they are entrepreneurs but they do not always have the best way to optimize their grain, it is not their job.
